UET OFFERS TUITION-FREE PHD (2021)

University of Engineering and Technology UET Lahore announced Tuition Free PhD Programs for the first time. UET becomes the first university in the country to offer tuition free PhD degree for all of its doctorate programs. The semester fee shall not be charged from the students enrolled in full-time PhD programs.
Required
Students enrolled in tuition free PhD programs will be required to work for at least six hours per week. Students may be offered teaching fellowship on the recommendation of their respective department after their PhD research proposal approval.
Phd Students enrolled in tuition free PhD programs shall have to maintain a minimum of 305 CGPA out of 4.0 in their coursework. The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of 2 years. “We want to encourage high-achieving graduates to pursue their PhD degrees at the university on full-time basis and focus on their courses and research without having to worry about finances,” said Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar, vice-chancellor.
“This step will result in higher quality publications as well as more interaction with industry,” he added. The process for admission to PhD programs at the university has already started.
Deadline
Admissions are open in tuition free PhD programs and the last date to apply is August 2, 2021. The subject tests will be conducted from August 9-12. Interviews of the candidates securing at least 70 per cent scores in the test will be conducted from August 16-24. The classes will commence from September 13.
