UAF FULLY FUNDED OVERSEAS MS AND PHD SCHOLARSHIP 2021
Overview
Brief Description
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad is offering fully-funded overseas scholarships for MS/MPhil leading to Ph.D. and Ph.D. programs in developed countries of the world. The scholarships are offered under the faculty development program. Overseas Scholarships Approved By The Chief Minister Punjab for the University Of Agriculture, Faisalabad under Special Initiative of The Chief Minister for Faculty Development of The University. The application deadline is November 05, 2021.
Applications are invited from the outstanding Pakistani/ AJK nationals (preferably existing UAF employees/lecturers) for the award of 10-15 overseas scholarships under the ADP Project titled 'Scheme for 50 Overseas Ph.D. Scholarships for the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad' approved by the Chief Minister Punjab in the following areas of specialization with the prescribed eligibility criteria as mentioned below:-
- Social Sciences (Agri. Economics/Agri. Business),
- Agri. Engineering/Artificial Intelligence
- Clinical Nutrition
- Seed Sciences
- Fisheries
- Population Genetics
- Animal Reproduction
NOTE:
The above distribution shall be subject to minor adjustments by the University Syndicate.
Eligibility Criteria for UAF Overseas Scholarships
Applicants must have a minimum of 16 years of education (First class/CGPA.3.00/4.00) in the relevant discipline; however, preference will be given to candidates having 18 years of qualification.
Maximum one 2nd division and no 3rd division in the entire academic career.
No less than 50% marks in the entire academic career.
Maximum age on the closing date of receipt of application: a) 40 years for full-time regular faculty members of public sector Universities/Colleges and employees of the public sector R&D organizations. b) 35 years for all others.
Must not be the recipient of any other scholarships.
Awardees must sign a bond to serve the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad for at least 5 years of service after completion of their Ph.D., studies.
The candidates will have to qualify for a written test comprising of the following sections: (a) English 30% (b) Analytical 30% (c) Subject 40%
The provisionally selected candidates will also be required to fulfill the admission criteria of foreign universities and provide the English proficiency certificate IELTS or TOEFL to proceed further.
UAF Overseas Scholarships Selection Criteria
A scorecard shall be developed with the following components:
- Written test 40%
- Academic Record 30% for up to 16 years of education based on the percentage of marks/CGPA.
- Additional MS/MPhil 10%
- Interview 20% Top 10 candidates shall be interviewed for each slot and merit shall be developed declaring one principal and two alternates.
The recommendation of the selection board shall be placed before the University Syndicate. The approved list of candidates shall be treated as scholars-in writing' till their placement in an overseas university.
The Provisionally selected candidates will have to meet the admission requirements of a nominated university. In case of nonfulfillment of admission requirements by a candidate within a given time, his/her name shall be de-notified and the slot shall be offered to an alternate candidate or are re-advertised.
The Candidates who fulfill the above-mentioned eligibility criteria may submit their curriculum vitae (C.V) along with a covering letter clearly indicating the intended area of specialization from the aforementioned list. Attested copies of all educational documents with DMCs, two-pages research proposal (three copies), two recent passport size photographs, and a copy of CNIC must be sent to the Human Resource Development (HRD) Cell by 05-11-2021 positively.
Candidates who are employees of Government/Semi-Government organizations / Autonomous Bodies must apply through the proper channel.
