Bolan Medical University Faculty Development Overseas Scholarship 2020
Overview
Bolan University of Medical and Health Science BUHMS Quetta announces overseas scholarship for faculty development programs. Scholarships are awarded for Ph.D. in Basic Medical Sciences and Clinical Sciences. Applications can be submitted online at the BUHMS website. The last date to submit an application is December 15, 2020.
The selected applicants will have to secure admission by themselves into a Ph.D. program or Master's leading to a Ph.D. in the specified disciplines in the HEC identified world top-ranked discipline wise Universities. The list of these universities & disciplines are available at HEC website (www.hec.gov.pk ).
HEC guidelines for awarding scholarship shall be followed from selection to successful completion of the award.
Bolan Medical University Overseas Scholarships Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a Pakistani/AJK National
- Must have at least 16 years' qualification MBBS/ BOS. However, preference shall be given to MS/ M.Phil/ FCPS in the relevant field.
- Must have 1st Division (in annual examination system) or CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 or 75% marks in the Terminal Degree or should have minimum cumulative 60% academic marks as per HEC Academic Evaluation Formula (HEC-A EF).
- Maximum two-second divisions and no third division throughout academic career.
- Maximum age on the closing date: 40 years for full-time faculty members/regular Government Servants o 35 years for all others.
- Must have obtained minimum 70% marks in a valid HEC Aptitude Test (HAT). The best HAT score of last two years will be considered for the shortlisting purpose.
- Candidates have to provide IELTS/TOFEL L as per the requirement of the respective universities, before their final selection.
- Candidates who are availing/availed any other HEC Scholarship are not eligible to apply.
- In-service candidates (having jobs/ services in departments other than BUMHS) will have to provide resignation duly accepted by their organizations before the award of scholarships. They will have to join BUMHS as Faculty Members under prescribed terms/ conditions.
- Must have obtained requisite qualification on or before the closing date i.e. 15th December 2020.
Important Note

- TA/DA will not be permissible for th1e purpose of the interview.
- Shortlisted candidates who are not faculty members of BUMHS, Quetta will have to compete for the faculty position as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in the University through its selection board. The scholarship will only be awarded against the respective faculty position.
- In-service applicants and faculty members from other universities will also go through same selection procedure as explained above in case they are considered for award of scholarship.
- Faculty members, both the existing and newly inducted, are required to complete all th·e admission requirements of the scholarship by the notified deadlines.
- Awa rd of the scholarship will only be confirmed after faculty appointment and grant of study leave as per rules of the BUMHS, Quetta.
- Successful scholars will be appointed without pay & allowances till completion of their studies. The emoluments will start once they join the BUMHS, Quetta after successful completion of their studies abroad and submission of the degree in the field of award.
- Scholars availing the scholarships are required to execute a bond, that they shall serve BUMHS, Quetta for a period of five years after completion of studies abroad or will return the scholarship money including penalty amount as per HEC rules.
- No request for change of University for the purpose of service bond will be entertained at any stage.
How to apply for BUHMS Overseas Scholarships
- Applicants are required to fill the online application form available at http://www.bumhs.edu.pk and post to the address given below.
- Application processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- only { Non-refundable) be deposited in online University-Main Account No. 16497992057703, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Habib Bank Limited, Complex Branch, Quetta or Demand Draft in the name of Registrar BUMHS. The deposit slip must be attached with the application form.
