KP will deduct salaries of teachers
To maintain the discipline in government schools, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to deduction the salary of teachers who are irregular and skip the school without approved leaves.
The Department of Education has sent directives to all district education officers asking to deduct the salary of teachers who skip the school without approved leaves.
According to the notification, one day’s salary will be deducted for taking two days off without approval in a month, and raises will be suspended for one year if the teachers take three unapproved leaves in a year.

Furthermore, the notification said that in case of four unapproved leaves in months, the increment for three years will be withheld.
In addition, the government has made biometric attendance compulsory to confirm transparency in the attendance system in schools, and the ones who fail to prove their attendance biometrically will be deemed absent.
The provincial government has also stated that the new academic session will start on 12 July instead of 15 August. KP’s Minister for Education, Shahram Tarakai, confirmed that all the government schools will begin the registration process of the primary classes through class 9 on Monday.

He also stated that educational institutions will resume their activities for the primary through the middle classes on the given date despite any interruption caused by weather.
