While the students are concerned about what their academic future will look like in coming years, there is a wave of uncertainty among all the provincial education boards across the country after the federal education ministry announcement regarding cancelling exams.

According to the Chairperson for K-P Boards’ Committee Sharif Gul Educational boards had collected Rs1.7 billion from students under the head of examination expenses but as of now, they have not spent the money as exams were called off. We are uncertain what to do with the money, we are not sure whether to refund it to students or not, he told the express media.

Following the decision of federal ministry, the provincial education department of KP announced that over 1.425 million students of matriculation and intermediate will be promoted to the next grades without exams.

After the announcement, the administrations of the eight examination boards in the province were confused as to what to do with the students who have either failed in one or two subjects or have cancelled their examination to give appear later to improve marks.

Gul informed media that over 0.3 million students who have either failed in one or two subjects or have cancelled their papers after they could not get high marks.
