Govt cancels all board exams
In the light of prevailing coronavirus crises, the government has decided to extend the closure of educational institutes till July 15 while canceling all the board examinations for the year 2020.
It was decided in the meeting of the National Coordination Committee today after which Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood addressed the press.
In the briefing, he said that earlier the government had decided to keep all the educational institutes closed till May 31, but due to the prevailing situation, it has been extended till mid-July.
He further said that the government has decided to cancel the examinations for grade nine till 12th due to the coronavirus crises. He also said that the students will be promoted to the next grade on the basis of their previous years’ assessment. Furthermore, the universities will consider the result of the first year for the admissions, he said.
