Education ministry opposed the idea of re-opening schools on June 1
The interprovincial education ministry recommended extending the closure of schools beyond May 31 in the view of the number of COVID-19 cases swelling in the country.
The matter was discussed in the video conference lead by Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood where the opening of educational institutions on June 1 was opposed. The Federal and Provincial education ministers said that opening of educational institutions on June 1 may lead to uptick in the COVID-19 cases in the country.
