Schools will be closed immediately if necessary, Murad Raas
Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said schools and other educational institutions in the province would be closed immediately if necessary, as the country is fighting the second wave of coronavirus infections.

During a visit to Lahore University, the Minister said that students' education had suffered the most due to coronavirus.
He said that when schools reopen, they will follow the 50% attendance rule.
Speaking about the problems faced by institutions during the virus, he said: "More than 122,000 schools are operating in Punjab. We cannot have two shifts."

The Minister stated that students of class 9-10 would rejoin school from January 18, students of class 1-8 from January 25, while universities would reopen from February 1.
