The stress of exam results claimed the lives of six students in India
There were six students who committed suicide due to low marks in intermediate exams in Telangana, an Indian state. India's education system is becoming extremely strenuous for students and negatively impacts their mental health.
6 students committed suicide in just two days after the 11th and 12th class results in the state of Telangana, while 9 students committed suicide two weeks ago after the results in another Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Both states' police say students took their own lives after failing exams or failing to receive the grades they needed.
A total of 12,256 students participated in India last year, while 13,086 students participated in 2021. Most of the students were under 18 years of age.
