Schools to reopen in Punjab for grade six and above
An important meeting was convened by Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas with the private school owners to review the application of standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the plan to reopening of schools.

According to media reports, Raas announced to open schools for children of class six and above on September 15 in the first phase. The step to resume classes for Nursery to Grade 5 students will be subject to the COVID-19 situation in the country.
The meeting decided that students will be called to schools in batches and not all students will be allowed at the same time. It further conveyed that the students of each class will be called in two groups and each group will attend the school on alternate days.

The minister has advised the school owners to deliver response by August 25.
Earlier this month, the Punjab government announced detailed SOPs for opening schools. The guidelines include basic rules, health awareness, and hygiene.
