Quaid-e-Azam University shut down due to covid-19 cases

The administration of Quaid-e - Azam University (QAU) decided to shut down the university after confirming the COVID-19 cases on its campus.

According to the QAU Registrar's official statement, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus disease on campus, the university will remain closed today (26 October).

The statement added that all classes would be held online today, while university transport will also remain suspended until further notice.

Students were advised to continue to visit QAU's official website as a comprehensive notification will be given later on in this regard, notifying them of the plan of action.

Whether the cases were registered among the hostel residents, day scholars, faculty, or staff members was not disclosed by the QAU administration.

Recently, Coronavirus is regaining its roots in Islamabad as the city recorded the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 infections in more than two months on Saturday. Dr. Zaeem Zia, Islamabad District Health Officer (DHO), reported that 186 people tested positive on Saturday, while 157 people tested positive for Coronavirus on Sunday.

Yesterday, Islamabad's district administration implemented a smart lockdown in different parts of the city to stop viral infection transmission, sealing ten streets in the process.
