Shafqat Mahmood addresses World Bank delegation on joint programmes
Shafqat Mahmood, the Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture, interacted with a World Bank group.
He welcomed the delegation led by Christian Aedo, Practice Manager, to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, noting that when he took over the ministry, there was no project between the ministry and the World bank, but that they are now "jointly carrying out so many important projects."
The $200 million ASPIRE programme, the $400 million Higher Education Development Program, the $19 million COVID-19 Response, Recovery, and Resilience in Education project, and the $20 million USD DARE award programme are among the projects.

Minister Mahmood promised the delegation that all of these programmes will be completed on time. "The ministry is also very eager and glad to actively participate in the World Bank'Accelerator' initiative, for which we are drafting specific priority activities concerning out-of-school children, quality education, distant learning, and remedial learning," he added.
Both sides acknowledged their happiness with the ongoing projects' progress and reaffirmed their commitment to improved coordination and collaboration
