Schools revert to regular timings in KP
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has directed all public and private schools and madressahs to resume regular school timings which were tapered due to unusual hot weather in the region.
A notification was issued by the KP Elementary & Secondary Education Department (KPESED) on Monday addressing that schools shall resume regular hours.
“The competent authority is pleased to notify that all public and private schools (including model schools, cadet colleges, and madaris) will observe normal timings.” the notification read, emphasizing adherence of COVID-19 SOPs.

Earlier, the provincial government had shortened the school hours for all public and private schools in both summer and winter zones due to extremely hot weather in the province.
The timings were reduced to a couple of hours, beginning at 7 am and closing by 10 am, while the afternoon shifts started at 4 pm.
Moreover, the board exams for matric and intermediate classes which were scheduled to start mid June were also deferred by another month.
