PHEC Approves University at Punjab House Murree
A notification has been issued by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) for establishing a university at Punjab House Murree.

The commission will build Kohsar University in Punjab House Murree, and the admissions will begin in September and October. The appointment of the First Vice-Chancellor is also expected this week.
According to the notification, Punjab House, Resource Center Murree, and 86 Kanal adjacent area of government's land was declared part of the university.

Apart from general subjects, Tourism and hospitality management will also be taught at the university, while the campus will be situated at the intersection of Kahuta and Kalar Syedan.
Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar approved the university in January this year. Implementation was postponed because of the pandemic coronavirus. The university could, however, be operational for the academic year in August with the notification.
