KP sets budget to appoint schoolteachers
The teachers will be hired on one-year contracts through the parent-teacher council (PCT) – a body consisting of the administration of the school, parents of the students enrolled, and local elders.
An amount of Rs. 400 million has been earmarked by Khyber Pakhtunkwa government for the hiring of teachers on a one-year contract.
According to reports, the hiring of teachers will be done through the parent-teacher council (PCT) in which Rs. 400 million have been allocated for the appointment of teachers out of which Rs. 200 million are reserved for the appointment of primary school teachers while the remaining will be used for the appointment of teachers in middle and high school.

As per official reports, 725 teachers would be appointed for primary schools, 373 teachers for middle schools, and 142 for high schools.
“Rs. 20,000 salaries would be paid to the teachers at primary schools, Rs. 25,000 to the teachers at middle schools and Rs. 30,000 to the teachers at high schools,” confirmed Hafiz Ibrahim, the director of the elementary and secondary education department.
