KP Government reverses its decision to give teachers free tablets
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has ordered newly appointed teachers to get tablets from their District Education Officers (DEOs) by 28th February. It was announced via a tweet from the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department which stated, “Under the KP Tablet Allowance Policy, the following government school teachers are required to contact their DEOs and purchase tablets by 28 February 2022”.

It has advised PST, SST, PET, and CT instructors hired between 2019 and 2021 to purchase the requisite tablets in order to complete the mandated Teachers' Induction Program training, of nine months. Teachers should contact their DEOs for the tablet specifications they need to buy, and half of the cost will be repaid if they provide a receipt, according to the Education Department.
After completing the Teachers' Induction Program training, the teachers will be able to keep the tablets.
