KP extends summer vacation
In a bid to prevent students from hot weather and expected fourth wave of coronavirus, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced 20 days extension in a 10-day summer vacation as schools force the students to attend the schools defying Covid-19 protocols.
On the other hand, the notifications issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department and the Higher Education Department stated that the summer break in all the government and private educational schools in the province shall be extended from July 12 to July 31.
Additionally, the notification specified that the ongoing board exams would continue as per the schedule and instructed the students and staff to strictly follow the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Exams start with inter part-II paper
Earlier, the government had announced the summer vacations at all the government and private educational institutions from July 1 to July 11 due hot weather.
Despite the government schools closure after the first notification, the administration of private schools defied the government orders and refused to shut the institutions amidst extremely hot weather.
The non-cooperation of private institutions has affected the students and their parents severely.
The private schools management suspected that the government had given them the choice to either continue classes or call off educational activities for the summer vacations.
KP will deduct salaries of teachers
However, the official notification had not stated any such option. On contrary, it clearly instructed all the government and private schools, colleges and universities to remain close during the period.
