KP closes schools in summer zone
The elementary and secondary education department in Peshawar on Sunday announced to close primary and middle schools as the province continues to face extreme weather conditions.
According to reports, the education department had altered the school timings for students from 7am to 10am. However, due to sweltering heat in the summer zone of the region, the department asked the schools to close down. Whereas, they said all the educational institutions in the winter zones would remain open and continue educational activities.

The officials said that the date of the reopening of school has not been notified to the schools as it is not certain till what time the region would face the hot weather.
It is pertinent to note that the schools started opening in late May after a long closure due to the second Covid-19 wave. The government and NCOC had decided to reopen schools in phases.
