Govt announces 20 percent reduction in fee
The Federal Education Minister announced a 20 percent fee waiver during school closure owing to a spike in coronavirus cases in the country.
The minister shared a notification on a micro-blogging site announcing that the government has decided to give a 20 percent reduction in the fee starting from April till the schools reopening. “This is applicable to all schools in Islamabad charging over Rs. 8000 per month fee,” said the minister in a tweet.

According to the notification, the private schools are advised by the government to grant the concession of 20 percent in the monthly fee of students with effect from April till reopening of private educational institutions. “However, the said educational policy is not applicable on PEIs charging monthly tuition fee less than 8000 PKR,” the notification stated.
“Parents are also advised to pay the fee in a timely manner,” it added.

Earlier, the minister answered complaints of parents on Twitter that schools are charging full fees even though the educational institutions are closed. The minister had promised, “We will examine this matter. No justice to anyone.”
