Government neglect has made education into a business: SC
Government indifference, according to Qazi Amin, has turned education into a business. "Earlier, a college price was Rs 8, and now a charge for a tiny child is Rs 30000," he continued. The government has a responsibility to provide free education. The government of Pakistan should not hide behind the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).
He made these remarks during a hearing in KP on Tuesday over the non-construction of schools in earthquake-affected districts. The matter was heard in front of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday. The court ordered ERRA to finish all unfinished projects by June 2022. During the case's hearing, ERRA's chairman said that 14000 projects needed to be completed, but still only 3000 remained unfinished.

Gulzar Ahmad, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), asked the chairman of the ERRA whatever projects were still unfinished. The projects connected to education and health, according to Chairman ERRA, have yet to be finished. Our major priorities are education and health.
While speaking to Chairman ERRA, CJP Gulzar Ahmad stated that if education and health had been a concern, the projects would have been done by now. In earthquake-stricken areas, the projects should have been finished within a year. The schools depicted in the photographs appear to be dysfunctional. Officers of the ERRA are only paid a salary and receive privileges. You would have done the task if your children were not allowed to attend school.
According to Advocate General KP, 238 of the 540 schools have been finished so far. The case was adjourned for one month after the court requested a progress report from the KP government as well as information on instructors and pupils in the newly constructed schools. The court ordered ERRA to finish the projects that are currently under development by June 2022.
