The Supreme Council of Private Schools and Colleges rejects the decision to close educational institutions

Islamabad: The Supreme Council of Private Schools and Colleges has rejected the decision to close private educational institutions for two weeks. It is not the educational institutions responsible for the current situation of Covid but the flawed policies of the government.

The private education sector is currently going through the most critical situation. The government spared no effort to destroy the sector. The Supreme Council authorities were present at National Press Club Islamabad and the Convener of the Supreme Council, Chaudhry Imran. He said that this time is of utmost importance for the education of children. We cannot afford to close educational institutions in any way. At present, the reason for the spread of Corona is the poor strategic policies of the government.

He added that two weeks ago, the government, while expressing satisfaction over Corona, resumed flight operations, gave open freedom to wedding halls, indoor functions, and other areas. Corona's SOPs were openly violated. The government did not announce the closure of madrassas. The decision to close educational institutions is now up to us. Matriculation board exams were not taken care of. The Board of Education has also released the schedule of matriculation examinations which are taking place on May 4. We will keep our educational institutions open with 50% and full SOP.

According to the Supreme Council's decision, all educational institutions will be fully opened on March 28. In case of action by the administration against any private educational institution, the Supreme Council will stand by that educational institution. For a long time, private educational institutions remained closed, and due to this, 20,000 educational institutions were closed down. The government did nothing to rehabilitate the educational institutions. Despite government announcements, interest-free loans on easy terms have not yet been issued. The government should fulfill its promise and issue loans.
