Female students not to sit in front seats of school vans, says Mansehra Police
The Mansehra Traffic Police has said that it is prohibiting female students from sitting on the front seats of Suzuki Vans, in order to protect them from sexual harassment.
According to a press release issued by the police department, the police are taking all the measures to protect the harassment of young girls by van drivers who pick and drop students for school and college in Mansehra District.

The press release revealed that the measures have been taken by the police after many parents complained that to police about the harassment faced by the girls by the hands of van drivers.
“This is not a human rights issue. In fact, imposing a ban on students to share front seats with drivers is one of the measures being adopted by the Hazara police to protect the lives and dignity of the students,” read the press release.

“We have conducted the screening of school van drivers to ensure that drivers, who used drugs, are not allowed to take children to schools,” it added.
