Violation of orders, seven more schools sealed
Rawalpindi: The Deputy Commissioner Anwar-ul-Haq, the Civil Defense Department launched a major crackdown against schools that are still open. Despite giving holidays, seven schools in different areas of the city were still open, and the staff, students, and non-teaching staff were also summoned. A case has been filed against the schools for violating governments orders to suspend all educational activities from November 26 due to an alarming rise in coronavirus cases in the country.

Under the supervision of District Officer Civil Defense Talib Hussain, an operation was carried out against the schools in the inner city and surrounding areas. Five teams of the Civil Defense Department kept checking in the city. The owners of private schools immediately locked the schools from the outside. These schools were also sealed after unlocking the locks of two such schools in the staff's presence.

Speaking on occasion, DO Civil Defense said that the campaign against the schools has been started daily, and it will continue till December 24. Any school found open will be sealed. Abrar Ahmad Khan, president of the All Pakistan Private School Management Association, has strongly condemned the sealing of schools and harassment of staff, saying that two or three staff members were present for office work and security. The closure of schools is wrong. Private school owners are being harassed. This incident will be challenged in the High Court next week.
