Tariq Banuri condoles Nisar Ahmed’s death
Chairman HEC Tariq Banuri condoles the death of Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, the renowned academic leader and Vice-Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, who passed away on Monday morning.
Mr. Banuri sent his heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, faculty, and students on behalf of Higher Education. He prayed for the departed soul and his family and said," at this anguished time, the feelings of the whole academic community are with his family."
Mr. Siddiqui was one of the country's most highly respected academic leader and reformer. He had developed, and introduced new approaches to education, improved the standard of service to society, and turned a newly formed institute into a leading national university.
After gaining extensive experience in management, administration, and academia at the national and international level, Prof. Siddiqui became the director of Sukkur IBA in 2004. He was also a member of the governing body of the HEC as representative of the Sindh Government.
His dedication, foresight, and leadership have led Sukkur IBA to offer high-quality teaching, applied research, and reliable infrastructure development. He focused on the relationship between the university and industry, promoting entrepreneurship, technology-transfer, and marketing activities.
