KU Professor removed over harassment charges
The University of Karachi has removed the Chairperson Criminology Department, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Burfat, after a faculty member filed a sexual harassment complaint against him.

Vice-Chancellor, Khalid M. Iraqi, has directed the orders to handover the charge to Dr. Farah Iqbal as Chairperson, who also heads the Department of Psychology.
The incumbent was given out by Registrar, Dr. Abdul Waheed, with the approval of the anti-sexual harassment committee including Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Dean, Dr. Nasreen, Teachers Society President, Dr. Shah Ali Ul Qader, and Deputy Registrar, Zia Sheikh.
While giving a brief to media, the anti-harassment committee lead by Dr. Nasreen Aslam Iqbal specified that Dr. Burfat was removed from his position due to repeated complaints of misdemeanors filed against him by students and faculty members.

However, she added that Dr. Burfat would continue to work as a professor at the department, but refused to state the punishment the committee has suggested for him.
