HEC invites research proposals for Local Challenge Fund
The higher Education Commission has announced a Local Challenge Fund (LCF) where faculty members of public and private sector universities / degree awarding institutions to submit research proposals that can help address local issues.

The LCF is aims to support research projects that address locally relevant socio-economic issues along with the topics associated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), read the handout published by HEC. “LCF awards will be selected competitively using merit-based, independent, transparent evaluation and selection process based upon international standards”, read the hand-out.
The applicant must be a faculty member (PHD or FCPS/ MCPS/ FRCS) from HEIs that are not included in the research-intensive institutions as specified for GCF-2020 Call.

“Deadline for the project online submission is Tuesday, September 1 and the project outlines must be submitted via HEC online portal and once the outlines are screened out, the candidates will be invited to submit the full project”, read the hand-out.
The LCF is a key element of Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP), a project supported by the World Bank and implemented by HEC.
