Govt of Punjab starts free lunch service for students
The Punjab government has started a new project to counter hunger and malnutrition among young students.
The Department of School Education (SED) of Punjab has partnered with Allah Wallay Trust, a food charity organization, to provide primary students with free meals. One free meal per day will be provided to primary students all over Punjab.

Initially, the free meal program was launched in 100 schools. In the coming months, it will soon be extended to the rest of the province.
Citizens praised the Punjab government's free meal program, saying the change would benefit students from deprived backgrounds in particular.
