The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has initiated an SMS service campaign to create awareness of the Omicron variation of the COVID-19 among students, teachers, and parents.

“On the direction of the Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Shafqat Mahmood, the Federal Ministry of Education has launched an SMS campaign to raise awareness on precautionary measures against coronavirus,” the ministry said in a Twitter post.
In the first step, the ministry worked with a telecom company to reach 12 million subscribers with an awareness message. The initiative began in Islamabad and will be expanded throughout Pakistan in partnership with other telecom companies.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the new coronavirus variant and encourages parents, teachers, and students to adhere to the COVID-19 SOPs code. The vaccination has also been made required for youngsters aged 12 and up, according to the government.
