The federal government has announced to promote students of classes I-IV and VI-VII studying in federal board schools.

The sources added that the students will be promoted on the basis of marks obtained in last year's exams. Furthermore, sources said that the students from grades I-VIII were promoted last year on the basis of exams, in which 90% of students passed and promoted to the next grade.
The decision was announced keeping in view the governments and provincial ministries’ agreement on reopening in-person classes on Monday (today) in Islamabad earlier last week.

Reports stated that the decision came after the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) presented the endorsement for in-person classes after Pakistan observed a drop in the coronavirus cases of the federal capital.
According to a notification, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), which supervises public sector schools and colleges in Islamabad, said that the schedule for exams will be announced soon for grades V and VIII.
