Sindh Education Department announces new policy calendar for 2020-21 term
KARACHI: The managing committee of the Sindh Education Department on Tuesday announced a new policy calendar for the session of 2020-21 after the educational institute’s closure amid coronavirus outbreak.
The notification states that the academic session year of private and government colleges will begin from June 1, whereas the new term for the Cambridge system schools will start from August 1.
The notification further stated that the students from class 1-3 will be promoted on the basis of written tests and assessments, while the examinations of classes 4-8 will be conducted from June 1-15, and the exams of class nine and matriculation will be conducted from June 15.
The notification further clarified that the results of class nine will be issued within 60 days, the education department said. The exams of classes 11 and 12 are set to start on July 6, while the results of the latter will be issued on 15 September.
The results of class 11 will be published within 60 days after the exams are finished.
The academic year for class nine will start from June 1, 2020 and end on June 10, 2021.
Meanwhile, the admissions for class 11 will begin after the announcement of matriculation's results, the notification said.
