Sindh Govt. to establish Medical and Dental Council

While addressing the media, Azra Pechuho said that the bill notifying the formation of SMDC would be introduced, approved, and signed into law within three months.
Sindh and other provinces have expressed reservations about the establishment of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
The PMC Act 2020 was enacted by the Federal Government last month, notifying the establishment of the PMC as the governing body of the apex medical and dental colleges and abolishing the Medical and Dental Council of Pakistan (PMDC).

Experts in medical education have also raised questions about eliminating the PMDC, arguing that the PMC would do nothing to boost its quality in medical education, rather than the complete opposite.
