Shafqat Mahmood allows entry test for admission in engineering universities
The Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood announced on Wednesday that all the students will be allowed to take the E-CAT/engineering examination to secure admissions in universities.
In a meeting chaired by the minister, it was mutually decided that the students who have taken O level or FSC exams will be allowed to take E-CAT exam to secure timely admission in engineering universities.

On the occasion, high officials from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and the Vice-Chancellors of the Engineering Universities were present.
The meeting deliberated on numerous options including the decision to save the academic year of the students whose academic year was disrupted due to COVID-19 and allowing A2 students of the Cambridge system whose results are expected in January to take the examinations by granting them a conditional admission with their final examinations and results.
