Schools to be inspected for hidden cameras says Shah
KARACHI: The education department has planned to have the vigilance committee perform surprise inspections of schools and other educational institutions to see if any concealed cameras have been installed in their washrooms, it was revealed on Saturday.
Following the discovery of hidden cameras put in the washrooms of a private school in Scheme 33, Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah announced the decision.
On November 3, he said, a female teacher at the school in Safora Goth reported the incident. He said that the school had been closed and that its registration had been revoked.

According to the education minister, the vigilance committee would make surprise inspections.
Mr Shah stated that individuals responsible for putting concealed cameras in the school's washrooms will face severe consequences.
He stated that the situation was mostly about cybercrime, and that the matter would be investigated by the Federal Investigation Agency, which had the necessary knowledge.
Minister Shah added that female students, teachers, and staff would have to file a complaint with the police if they wanted to pursue criminal charges against the school administration.
