Pakistan’s youngest mountaineer scales K2

A 19-year-old Pakistani Shehroz Kashif became the youngest person to scale K2, the world's second-highest mountain, confirmed the Alpine Club of Pakistan.  Kashif reached the 8,611 meters (28,251 foot) peak at 8:10 am on Tuesday, reports the foreign news agency.

Shehroz Kashif, who began climbing in his early teens, scaled the world's 12th highest mountain, 8,047-metre (26,400 foot) Broad Peak, at the age of 17. In May, he became the youngest Pakistani to scale Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. He now holds an additional record as the youngest person to have summitted the K2 and Everest.

Kashif is among the youngest mountaineers in Pakistan who began climbing in his early teens. He scaled the world’s highest mountain, 8,047 meters (26,400 foot) Broad Peak at the age of 17. In 2021 May he scaled Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain situated in Nepal. Kashif adds another feather to his cap for summiting the K2 and Everest as the youngest mountaineer.

Among other young mountaineer who scaled K2 was Sajid Ali Sadpara who reached the K2 top at the age of 20 and became the youngest K2 climber. Sajid is currently on K2 on a search mission to find the body of his father, who went missing along with two other mountaineers in February this year.
