‘No final decision taken for matric and inter exams,’ Saeed Ghani
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said Thursday that the final decision to commence the 9th and 10th board examination has not been taken yet.
The provincial minister also restated that obligatory final examinations of all classes would be held this year and no one would be promoted without examinations.

Ghani said this while presiding a meeting of the school education and literacy department to discuss measures for the upcoming annual exams of matriculation and intermediate.
During the inter-provincial ministers' meeting, several suggestions had been discussed and recommendations from all the provinces regarding the resumption of educational activities and timetable of examinations.

The provincial minister stated that earlier in the steering committee, it was decided to begin the matriculation exams on July 1 and the intermediate exams on July 28.
"In view of the current situation, we have deferred the teaching process till May 23 in the light of the decision of the NCOC [National Command and Operation Centre] meeting and we will take up the matter further in the next meeting," he added.

The meeting was informed by the boards in Sindh that all preparations for holding the examinations on the scheduled dates have been made.
The education minister directed the boards to deliberate other options as well and formulate a report and submit it to him.
The School Education Secretary Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, Additional Secretary Dr Fauzia Khan, Sindh Board Committee and Board of Intermediate Education Karachi Chairman Dr Saeeduddin, and others were present at the meeting.
