Long winter vacations to be announced by Education ministers after meeting
Shafqat Mahmood, the Federal Education Minister, has convened a virtual Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) on December 13 to approve winter break plans.
Education Ministers from all federating units will examine the shutdown of schools and institutions throughout the country from December 15, 2021 to January 16, 2022, according to details.
On the other hand, without consulting the IPEMC, the governments of Sindh and Balochistan have already scheduled winter breaks in schools and institutions.
The Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) has announced the closure of educational institutes from December 20, 2021 to January 1, 2022, while the Balochistan Secondary Education Department (BSED) has announced the shutdown of educational establishments in the summer zone from December 22, 2021 to December 31, 2022, and in the winter zone from December 15, 2021 to February 28, 2022.
The Punjab government announced last month that schools and institutions in Lahore will be closed on Mondays and Saturdays, as well as the weekly holiday of Sunday.
The decision was made in response to the worsening haze in the province capital, and the directions will be in place from November 27, 2021, to January 15, 2022.
