Lal Haveli to convert into a university, says Sheikh Rashid
The Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed announced on Wednesday the decision to turn his famous residence Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi, into a university.
While speaking to a media at an inauguration ceremony of the Multipurpose Academic Hall at Government Associate College for Women, the minister said that he plans to convert his residence into a university in the future.

“Lal Haveli will play a part in educating girls from top foreign universities,” the minister said.
Rashid said that vacant plots should be turn into colleges and universities around Rawalpindi.
The minister also stressed on the need for transport for girls’ colleges and said that no female student should have to walk more than a kilometer to reach college.
