UNICEF initiates “My Home, My School” campaign in Balochistan

UNICEF together with Balochistan’s Secondary Education Department started an initiative “My Home, My School” that will help and support children in continuing learning despite the unusual circumstances.

“As part of the ‘My Home, My School’ campaign, UNICEF and partners have created WhatsApp groups through which they provide guidance on how to teach children at home”, says the article. The campaign aims to provide parents, teachers and community members with information on how to protect oneself from the coronavirus and how to stay physically and psychologically fit, says the UNICEF.

According to UNICEF, more than 12,000 adults are now members of 300 WhatsApp groups created under ‘My Home, My School’ initiative. “UNICEF-supported teams also provide online support to Parent-Teacher School Management Committees (PTSMCs) and Local Education Councils (LECs) online to ensure children can continue to learn”, the document adds.

UNICEF is following inclusive approach such as videos teaching different academic subjects, as well as information of COVID-19, to different grades.
