According to official HEC reports, the regulatory authority examines multiple solutions for disabled students to bring them into the higher education sector.
In light of the bill, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Protection of People with Disabilities Act 2020 has already been introduced. HEC will review the new policy for differently-capable students. The bill is also binding on neighboring universities, but its enforcement requires vice-chancellors to take the lead.
The sources also highlighted the steps taken by HEC to encourage the differentiated students, including the declaration of HEC policies on the issue, the distribution of wheelchairs, the establishment of Well Being Centers, and the creation of Kamyab Jawan Programme Student Clubs for Prime Minister.
