Canteen business in deep water due to the closure of educational institutes
The closure of educational institutions has pushed thousands of schools, colleges and universities’ canteen owners into financial crises yet again amid the lockdown imposed due to the surge in Covid-19 cases.

Many of those who were into the canteen business are pushed to think about other means of earning after the lockdown of educational institutions is enforced. As a result, the canteen and Cafeteria businesses have dropped off and thousands are again jobless.
According to reports, the canteen management of the University of Peshawar is one of the thousands facing the Virus instigated financial crunch.
“We haven’t yet recovered from the abundant loss caused by the first lockdown and now the educational institutions are closed again, the provincial government is not help or supporting the canteen owners, we are in a bad shape,” said the Canteen owner in UOP.

It is pertinent to note that University of Peshawar is famous for its food stalls and canteens and many people from outside regularly come to the university for lunch and snacks. However, due to the closure of universities across the province, the café owners are facing a huge monetary crux. On the other hand, the daily wages workers in the canteens and cafes have also lost their jobs.
