With school closure, board exams postponed
The Interprovincial Education Ministers conference has decided to conduct Matric and Intermediate examinations in May or June. While addressing a press conference, Punjab education minister Dr. Murad Raas said that Matric and Inter examinations from class 9 to class 12 do not seem possible in March. He said that the syllabus could not be completed due to a month-long school closure amid coronavirus second wave. The decision was made in light of an announcement made by the federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood, regarding schools' closure from November 26 till January 11.

He said that respective boards would decide the exact date of the exams after evaluating the situation.
However, he said that the exams for classes 1-8 would be conducted in March. Earlier, All Punjab boards had announced that Matric and Intermediate examinations would be conducted in March. Due to the uncertain situation created by a coronavirus, the Punjab Higher education department is now working on a plan to conduct matric and inter exams 2021 in August instead of March. According to reports, a document is being prepared to change the matric and intermediate exams' schedule.
