Successful Negotiations between the Education Department & Teachers Association in Peshawar
According to the Director of Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hafiz Ibrahim, the negotiations with the primary school teachers have been successful. Despite the teachers' association's statement that primary schools will remain closed, the protest was officially ended after a written agreement was reached.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department and the Teachers Association have made significant progress in the negotiations, according to details. Director Education Hafiz Ibrahim said that the negotiations with the primary school teachers have been successful, and a nine-member committee has been established to approve their demands.
Within 40 days, this committee, consisting of three APTA members, will submit the demands of the teachers and their recommendations to the finance department. In his statement, he said the teachers would provide regular services in the schools once the protest was over.
The All Primary Teachers Association, on the other hand, says the Education Department will hand over the written agreement to the teachers after which the protest will be over. Moreover, the Teachers Association reported that the arrested teachers were also released.
