HC Peshawar Orders Colleges to Take Action against Ragging

Islamia College's Vice Chancellor was ordered to take action against students harassing new students by the Peshawar High Court.

Express News reports that the Peshawar High Court heard a case concerning ragging among first-year students and ordered all colleges to take measures against the ‘ragging’ of students.

A video of Islamia College students bullying new students on the road is circulating on social media, the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court said during the hearing. The stress they experience in college should not be allowed.

Islamia College's vice-chancellor was ordered to take action against the students who harassed the new students, and if such incidents repeat themselves, the vice-chancellor will be held responsible.

According to the court, students who harass new students should inform their parents and be expelled.

The Chief Justice attests that it is evident from the video clips that children are leaving colleges out of frustration, and the colleges need to make sure that no such incident occurs with the new students.
