Shafqat Mahmood, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, stated on Thursday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.
The education minister stated in his tweet “I have unfortunately tested positive for coronavirus. My symptoms are mild so far and I feel fine. Hopefully with some rest will recover soon,” he wrote.
He recommended individuals to take all necessary precautions, including wearing a mask at all times.
The education minister had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 in May 2021.
Pakistan reported more than 3,000 coronavirus cases in the recent 24 hours for the first time since September 15, 2021, according to data from the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) on Thursday morning.
According to NCOC data, the country added 3,019 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1.31 million. The positivity ratio has risen to 6.12%, the highest level in over four months, with the infection rate last exceeding it on September 8, 2021.
