Lahore: A day after the reopening of schools across the country, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Minister of Health of Punjab, cautioned against the imminent closing of educational institutions if the standard operating procedures for coronavirus are not strictly followed.

While talking to the media on Tuesday, Rashid reported that the spread of coronavirus is the highest in Lahore than other cities in Punjab.
On Monday, after a break of almost two months, classes for students from grades nine to 12 began across the country.
The decision was made to reopen educational institutions in the wake of the second outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic on January 16, at a high-level conference at the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).

A one-week extension was given to begin classes for grades 1-8 students. They were scheduled to launch earlier, on January 25.
