PEF releases funds for books and fees of school students
Punjab Education Foundation has started distributing free syllabus books to the partner schools in Punjab from Wednesday, June 18.
According to PEF spokesperson, the syllabus books will be distributed in 36 districts of Punjab province from 52 collection centers made by PEF. “The book distribution process will be conducted in different phases”, he said. According to PEF, all the SOP’s to avoid the spread of COVID-19 will be followed during the process of distribution of syllabus books to schools.
Moreover, PEF also announced the release of 64 million for the fees of school students for the month of June. According to the spokesperson PEF, the payment has been dispatched to all the banks which will be transferred in school owner accounts. PEF said that after receiving the amount, owners of the schools cannot ask for a fee from any school student.
Meanwhile, the Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Amirul Azeem has alleged the Punjab government for the anti-education policies. Azeem said that there were as many as 2.6 million students in the PEF secondary education system but more than 300,000 of them were not funded. He further said that these students had now been declared fake and the funds meant for them were being transferred to the Insaaf Student Foundation.
