Karachi is getting a new university and three sub-campuses
On Tuesday, the Sindh government released the annual provincial budget for FY 2022-23, giving more than 25% of the entire budget to education.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister of Sindh who also serves as the province Finance Minister, said that the education sector will receive Rs. 326.86 billion in the fiscal year 2022-23.
CM Sindh declared the establishment of a university in Korangi during his budget speech. This university will establish two sub-campuses in District West and District Kemari. In Malir, NED University will develop a sub-campus.
Tando Muhammad Khan and Tando Allahyar will have IBA Karachi or IBA Sukkur as sub-campuses and Mehran University will also develop a sub-campus in Sujawal.
The University of Sindh's Dadu campus will acquire an IT department. At GC University Hyderabad, a boundary wall will be constructed as well and in Karachi, a new HEC Sindh office will be built.
The NED University of Science and Technology will create an integrated Science and Technology Park (STP). The STP would cover 1.3 acres and would cost around Rs. 1 billion to be built.
