ISLAMABAD: More educational institutions have been sealed due to Covid cases
Following the discovery of Covid-19 cases in the federal capital Islamabad, two additional educational institutions have been closed according to a news report.
In total, 20 cases have been reported on the Islamabad campus of a private university, and three cases of Covid have been reported on the Soan Garden branch of a private school.
The district health officer (DHO) Islamabad gave instructions to seal the two educational institutions in a letter to the deputy commissioner.

The educational institution has been ordered to be sealed until further orders are issued, as well as a contact tracing and testing operation.
COVID positive rates have risen alarmingly across the country, crossing 11% nationally, with Karachi leading the way with a ratio of 41.06 percent.
The statewide positive ratio reached 11.55 percent in the last 24 hours, according to national health ministry sources, with Sindh province reporting a ratio of 21.77 percent, Punjab 7.23 percent, Balochisan 4.74 percent, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 2.88 percent.
Islamabad had a positivity ratio of 15.37 percent, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had a positivity ratio of 6.07 percent, and Gilgit Baltistan had a positivity ratio of 2.17 percent.

Furthermore, in terms of large cities, Karachi stayed on top with a COVID positivity ratio of 41.06 percent, followed by Muzaffarabad with 25 percent, Hyderabad with 17.27 percent, Lahore with 14.25 percent, and Rawalpindi with 12.75 percent.
During the fifth wave of the COVID-19, which was headed by the Omicron variant, it was also discovered that children and health workers were infected.
