Govt of Sindh to hire 40,000 new teachers

Sindh's Education and Literacy Department (ELD) has recently begun recruiting the process to employ 40,000 teachers after a gap of eight years.

In the first phase, 30,000 primary school teachers (PST) will be recruited, while in the second phase of the recruiting, 10,000 junior elementary school teachers (JEST) will be hired.

All candidates would be expected to pass out a written examination of at least 55 percent marks to qualify for an interview.

Whilst the date of the written exam will be announced later, the following three primary fields of education will be the subject of the test.

  • Science, mathematics, and computer education
  • English
  • Mother tongues and social studies including Islamiat

The written examination will be taken based on the Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) Class 1 to 8 PST and Class 6 to 10 books.

In compliance with ELD rules and regulations, the reserved quota for women, minorities, and the disabled will also be preserved.

ELD has told applicants to be eligible for the written exam, noting that recruiting would only be performed on a merit basis.
