E-Transfer: Punjab Minister shocked at teachers’ demand
The Punjab Minister of Education, Murad Raas announced that the E - Transfer for all the Teachers of Punjab will start from June 10.
In a tweet posted on his social media account on Tuesday, he said that the process of E-Transfer for all the respectable teachers of Punjab will start on June 10 (Today)
“All transfers will be made on Merit just like previous year 2019”, the tweet read.
He said that in this Automated System introduced by PTI Punjab Government (School Education Department), there is a no possibility of corruption.
However, he later tweeted that he is shocked at teachers demand to remove STR (Student Teacher Ratio) from E-Transfers. “So, we should not transfer teachers to schools where they are needed and allow teachers to go to any school of their choice even if they are not needed there. Does this make any SENSE?”, he asked in disbelief.
According to the education department of Punjab, the E-transfer was introduced by PTI government to facilitate maximum number of teachers. “Punjab has revised the minimum tenure requirement (for transfer eligibility), from three years, to one year”, says education department.
Meanwhile, another meeting chaired by Punjab Higher Education Minister Raja Yasir Humayun was also held on Tuesday to review the e-transfer facility for college teachers.
